About David

David  is a  multi-talented musician who wears many hats.  He plays 6 &12 string guitars, mandolin, piano, bass and sings lead vocals.  He is the owner of Mountain Lyon Music in Evergreen where he composes, produces, engineers and records original Colorado music.
He has recorded two all original CD's, "If That Don't Beat All," and "False Memories."  He received quite a bit of air play on local college radio stations and independent radio stations around the state.
He's been playing music since he was 8 years old when he took piano lessons.  He informed his piano teacher that the only type of music that he wanted to learn was "boogie woogie."  He bought his first electric guitar and amp the day before he left for his freshman year of college.  Armed with a Bob Dylan songbook, he was bound and determined to join the musical movement that was taking place.
He played with a number of bands throughout college but didn't turn professional until the early seventies when he formed a Country Rock band called "Slippery Rock."  They were a main stay in the Colorado ski towns and built up quite a good following.  The band was composed of top notch musicians from around the country and even included an original member of the "Nitty Gritty Dirt Band."
After a couple of years "on the road," he decided to settle down and use his degree in Chemistry and Biology.  He earned a Master's Degree in Computers and ended up teaching for 32 years.  His last 15 years were spent teaching "At Risk" students in Jefferson County as well as becoming a "Master Teacher" for Intel's "Teach To The Future Program."  This program taught teachers how to use technology more efficiently in their classrooms.
During this period he kept in close contact with a great number of outstanding musicians who have recorded with him and often joined him on stage as he continued to write and perform in clubs and at special events.  He also produced "The Love Album" which show-cased 17 Colorado musicians who donated their music and proceeds to the Colorado Food Bank.
David's musical influences include: Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne, Van Morrison, The Byrds, The Band, James Taylor, Jimmy Buffett, Chuck Berry and the Beatles.  He is currently working on his next CD and hopes to have it out this summer.
